What is this checklist?
This manufacturing IT readiness checklist helps small to midsized discrete manufacturers in the Inland Empire and North San Diego County identify technology gaps that could affect production, cyber insurance coverage, backup recovery, or business continuity. It covers six categories: ERP and business systems, shop floor connectivity, cybersecurity and cyber insurance readiness, backups and disaster recovery, server and workstation lifecycle, and vendor access and documentation.
Critical
Could stop production, block recovery, affect cyber insurance, or create major business risk
Important
Should be addressed in the next planning cycle
Recommended
Improves documentation, consistency, or long-term IT maturity

How to Read Your Results
This checklist is a planning tool, not a formal security audit or compliance certification. Use it to identify areas to review and prioritize, then work with a qualified IT provider to assess your specific environment.
Critical items marked No
Review These First
Critical items represent direct risk to production uptime, ERP availability, backup recovery, or cyber insurance coverage. If you marked No on one or more, those should be addressed before anything else.
Important items marked No
Include in Next Planning Cycle
These gaps may not stop production immediately but create exposure over time. If you marked No on several Important items, include them in your next IT planning cycle and annual budget.
Only Recommended items marked No
Stable but Room to Mature
Your environment may be stable but could benefit from better documentation, lifecycle planning, and process maturity. Recommended items improve long-term manageability.
If you marked "No" on multiple Critical items, your manufacturing environment may have production, security, or recovery risks that should be reviewed before they become emergencies. A free manufacturing IT assessment can help you understand the scope and priority of what needs to be addressed.
